Pit Sandbox 1.1 - Spawn Rework
PIT SANDBOX 1.1 - Spawn Rework
The new update is here! We’re adding a new shared Social Spawn area, reworking Item Progression, a server-side Autoclicker, and much much more. Read on to find out all the details!
NEW FEATURE - Spawn Island!
This update introduces a new, central spawn area, separate from the map. The aim of this is to make the game feel more social, allow new players to meet endgame players, and allow us to de-clutter the existing spawns, with the aim of making the game much more approachable. There’s lots of little details and secrets to discover around the island, we hope you enjoy exploring them!
Notes:
- A shared social spawn that all players join on login (no matchmaking here)
- Jump into the central Pit to matchmake into a game server; return seamlessly via the portal
- Most NPCs and progression features have been moved here; the in-game spawn is now smaller
- Added Golden Berries to Spawn
- Added various secrets and miscellaneous features to Spawn
- Tablist now shows everyone connected to Pit Sandbox, not just your instance. We also reworked it to include new widgets displaying some useful information!
- All players can now access Global Chat by default
Why?
- Right now, when new players log on, the game feels very empty. They may assume we’re playercount spoofing or that we’re a dead server, then don’t feel motivated to continue playing. The new player experience just isn’t good enough. These changes should help mitigate this: and for both old and new players, we’re hoping that this will make the game feel more alive.

NEW FEATURE - Item progression rework!
We’ve totally revamped mystic item upgrades with this update. Now, your mystics physically upgrade their material as you level them up with the new Mystic Dust, from Wood, all the way up to Gold. For those endgame players with maxed out items, we’ve also added a new Item Ascension system, where you can push your items beyond the max level; at a very high price.
Notes:
- Added visual gear material progression (work your way up from wood/leather)
- Items now have a Material Tier with 10 Levels each, climbing Wood -> Stone -> Iron -> Gold (then Ascension beyond Gold)
- Jewel and regular mystics are unified onto the same base sword damage per tier: Wood 7.5, Stone 7.75, Iron 8.0, Gold 8.5
- Each Level adds a small bonus (+0.5% sword damage, or +0.5% damage reduction on pants); hitting Level 5 of a tier gives a bigger base-damage bump (+0.125 on Wood/Stone, +0.25 on Iron/Gold), and each pants Material Tier adds +2.5% damage reduction
- Upgrade at the Mystic Well with Coins + Mystic Dust, instead of at Marcus.
- Added Item Prestige: At level 10, you can Prestige an item to the next Tier - Wood, Stone, Iron, and Gold. Prestiging grants a fresh Attribute and raises your existing Attributes’ float potential.
- Added Item Ascension: When an item is fully maxed, you can Ascend your item to marginally improve each attribute’s float cap, plus a little extra damage. This is enormously expensive.
- Renamed Jewel Scrap to Mystic Dust; Renamed Scrap Buffs to Attributes.
- Attributes now roll a float (0.00-0.70 fresh/rerolled, up to 1.00+ via Prestige & Ascension) and their effect scales between a floor and a cap. Items hold up to 3 Attributes; reroll them with an Attribute Reroller.
- Old items are auto-migrated; all of your existing attribute combinations are preserved.
- You can now rarely obtain Mystic Dust (formerly Jewel Scrap) from bot kills.

NEW FEATURE - Uberstreak rework!
Uberstreak has been outdated for a very long time. It’s the first “loot-based” streak that new players unlock, so it was really dragging down the earlygame experience. We’ve reworked it from the ground up to be fun (and, hopefully, rewarding!) for both new and old players.
Notes:
- Uberstreak no longer caps at 400 kills.
- As you kill bots on Uberstreak, you gain Shards by killing bots.
- After 100 kills, you reach a checkpoint (Requirement increases by 100 kills per checkpoint)
- At every checkpoint, you may choose to Bank your shards, or move to the next phase to gain +0.5x Mult, but gain stacking Affliction debuffs.
- Every phase, a dangerous Uber Bot is summoned. These become stronger and gain new attacks on each phase. You can’t progress until you manage to defeat them. They also drop some Shards on death.
- When you bank your shards, your earned amount is multiplied by your Mult value. Then, all of your total shards are consumed, and form an Uberdrop.
- Your Uberdrop has a different Star quality depending on your earned shards:
- 1 Star: 200 Shards
- 2 Stars: 500 Shards
- 3 Stars: 1,000 Shards
- 4 Stars: 2,000 Shards
- 5 Stars: 14,000 Shards
- You gain more rewards per star tier, and unlock additional loot!
- Dying causes you to gain only 25% of your earned shards
- You can’t leave mid, at all, throughout the streak
- We added lots of new loot to Uberstreak!
- Corrupted Enchantments - a brand new, high-risk enchant category. Each one adds Corruption, which cuts your healing (up to -70%) - but every Corrupted enchant also grows STRONGER the more Corruption you’re carrying. They slot into the existing Rare and Regular enchant menus. There are 10:
- Deadlock (Sword)
- Cornered Beast (Sword)
- Combo: Plague (Sword)
- Sanguine (Sword)
- Soul Sacrifice (Pants)
- Withering (Bow)
- Blight (Bow)
- Avarice (Resource)
- Gluttony (Resource)
- ???
- Unlock them to see what they do!
- Diamond Dust, used to upgrade your armor
- Charm of fortune, granting permanent bonus luck
- The Offering, used to upgrade Charms
- Umbral Morsels.
- We also reworked and buffed the existing loot pools!
- We added lots of new Mastery Perks for Uberstreak:
- Catharsis: When you bank, each active Affliction stack converts into bonus Shards (up to +5 per stack).
- Double Down: At a checkpoint, Double Down to brave the next phase for double the multiplier step - at the cost of double the Afflictions (1-3 uses per run).
- Feast of Ruin: Each active Affliction stack raises your Shard drop chance (up to +0.75% per stack).
- Compound Interest: Each phase you brave grows the ladder multiplier further (up to +0.75x per phase).
- Overflow: Every 2,000 Shards past the top 5-Star tier has a chance (up to 40%) to grant a bonus Uberdrop reward.
- Reckless Greed (toggle): While ON, Shards drop up to +30% larger, but every phase inflicts +3 extra Afflictions.
- Golden Parachute: Dying salvages more of your hoard (30% up to 50%).
- Clean Kill: Slay an Uber Bot without taking a hit to cleanse Afflictions (up to 3) and earn bonus Shards.

NEW FEATURE - Server-side Autoclicker!
Autoclicking (up to 14 cps) has always been allowed on the server, because the amount of clicking required to progress in the game can be really strenuous. However, this made it difficult for new players to get into the game: some of them don’t want to install “cheats”, or unknown software; many of them don’t know how. This feature adds an autoclicker to the game natively, replacing the old Free Shot system.
It can be toggled on/off by pressing “Q” while holding a sword. Try it out!
Notes:
- Toggle it by holding your sword and pressing your drop key (Q)
- Cut from 20 tiers to 6, with new CPS progression and accurate vanilla hit detection; won’t fire in spawn
- Works on bots, bosses, AND players!
- Added an in-game broadcast tip explaining the toggle

NEW FEATURE - Gigastorage!
Inventory management and storage has been a long-standing complaint for sandbox - this new system is intended to address it, allowing you to store tons of a single item type in one inventory slot!
Notes:
- Auto-store huge stacks of common items (incl. Fresh Jewels) in a single slot
- Upgrade each item’s capacity with Golden Spools
- Optional auto-pickup, toggleable per item type
- Ranks get storage multipliers
- Think of it like Boss Pouch, but for items from all over the game!

LOTS OF BALANCE CHANGES
This update brings a LOT of balance changes, mostly geared towards making PvP more fun. In particular, our design direction has leaned towards nerfing the prevalence of Healing and Absorption, and reducing the Time-To-Kill overall. We’ve also been looking at some common player complaints and have tried to make targeted changes to address these.
Notes:
- Bread reworked: now heals instantly (+3❤, +2 absorption, brief Regen) on a 25s cooldown instead of over time; still grants coins/XP per eat. Enfuser now adds +0.1❤ to the insta-heal and -0.25s cooldown per level (min 15s)
- Lifesteal & Leech now heal off the damage actually dealt (not the pre-reduction amount) - a big sustain nerf against defensive targets
- Retracing Steps reworked: dropping below 50% HP grants a 0.5s burst of Regen 13/14/15/16 (cooldown 30/28/26/24s); no longer gives absorption on hit
- Marked reworked: now only applied by a fully-charged bow crit (excludes Mega Longbow); duration 6s -> 12s
- Sacrifice reworked: on death, nearby guildmates get Regen IV + Speed III for 5/8/11/14s (15s cooldown each) instead of absorption
- Serenity: now also grants Speed III while invisible, and the block time is ~0.25s shorter (1.75s, or 1.25s at tier 4)
- Poison rune reworked: melee builds Poison (max 8 stacks, 5s refresh, 1s between hits, -0.2s per extra Poison rune). On expiry/max it deals Very True damage per stack equal to the sum of your equipped Poison runes’ tier values (Uncommon 0.1 / Rare 0.15 / Epic 0.2 / Legendary 0.25❤) — a full Legendary set hits 0.75❤/stack (6❤ at 8 stacks)
- Blood Vial nerf: healing cut by 2%/level to 3/4/5/6/7/8/10%, and it now only boosts Lifesteal healing
- Boo-boo nerf: passive regen -0.5❤/tier -> 1 / 1.5 / 2
- Mirror nerf: now blocks 75 / 90 / 100 true damage by tier
- Sharp nerf: crit damage -> +20 / 35 / 50
- Pierce nerf: very true damage halved -> +0.2 / 0.35 / 0.5
- Quadrillionaire nerf: per-digit bonus halved (1/1.5/2/ -> 0.5/0.75/1/); base +100% unchanged
- Divine Protection: mid-streak damage reduction 50% -> 25%
- Protection nerf: per-tier damage reduction cut 2.5% -> 2% (cap unchanged at 7), so a full diamond set blocks 42% instead of 52.5%
- Attributes (formerly Scrap Buffs) - full rework of the system and every stat:
- Old Scrap Buffs had three fixed tiers (I/II/III) with set values; Attributes now roll a continuous float (0.00-0.70 on a fresh roll/reroll, cap 1.00, higher via Ascension), up to 3 per item, rerollable with an Attribute Reroller
- Each Attribute’s effect = a floor (its value at 0 float) + float x scale (its value at full float). Prestige and Ascension raise an item’s float potential
- Mechanic reworks (the formula changed, not just the numbers):
- Low HP Damage: was scaled per missing heart -> now a flat +5% (0 float) -> +9% (full float) while below 40% HP
- Low HP Defense: was scaled per missing heart -> now a flat -10% -> -18% while below 40% HP
- Bounty Damage: was scaled per $1,000 of bounty -> now a flat +5% -> +9% vs players with a $10,000+ bounty
- True Damage: was a flat per-hit amount -> now amplifies ALL the true damage you deal by +20% -> +30%
- Very True: was a flat per-hit amount -> now converts 10% -> 20% of the true damage you deal into Very True damage
- Mini Heal: was a flat heart amount per hit -> now heals 0.5% -> 1% of the target’s current HP per hit
- Speed: now only applies while you haven’t been hit for 3s (was always active); up to +13.2%
- New Attributes: Kill Heal (heal up to 0.55❤ on kill) and Night Defense (take up to -2.75% damage at night)
- All other Attributes carried over but were rescaled (full-float values shown):
- Sword: Night Damage +5.5%, Chain Damage +11% (after 3 hits on one player), Mega Damage +22%, Absorption Damage +13%, Boss Damage +16.5%, Streak Damage +1.65% per 100 Streak, Boss Lifesteal +11%, Weakness Evade 5.5% chance, Bonus XP / Coins / Mastery XP +16.5% each
- Pants: True Defense -19.8%, NPC Defense -9.9%, Day Defense -7.7%, Streak Defense -6.6% per 100 Streak, Hit-Stack Defense -2.75% per hit taken without attacking, Hit Regen 13.2% chance of Regen II (3s), Boss Regen 0.275❤ every 2s
- Adjusted the damage calculation. This will likely have a significant impact on pvp fairness.
- Also, some balance changes to bosses:
- Halved the anti-heal inflicted by most attacks
- Shadowmeld 4 -> 3, Magic Missiles 3.5 -> 2, Shatter 8 -> 6 (range 10 -> 9), Ultrapolygon 8 -> 6, Roomba Bomb 4 -> 2
- Nuke: +5s timer (300 -> 400 ticks)
- Frostbite: stacks clear much faster (~9s -> 4s) and no longer leaves ice under the boss
- Protected modifier: spawns 2 glyphs instead of 3 and no longer knocks you back
- Bosses no longer drop Mystery Boxes
- Boss attack lightning is now rendered client-side (smoother visuals)
QOL CHANGES
This update adds various other qol and content additions, which I’ll summarize here:
Notes:
- Added Training Dummies! Customise their loadout in Spawn, and test out your build on them! These come with a full Damage Breakdown feature, so you can see exactly where your damage is coming from in your build. You can also type a player’s name in to copy their loadout onto the dummy, in case you want to hunt them :)
- Reworked Golden Berries
- Berries now also appear in Spawn; the Berry Catalogue tracks progress per map
- Milestone rewards replaced by a Reward Token exchange (5 berries -> 1 token); each token permanently grants +2% Kill XP
- Added a Slot Machine at the Spectral Market (pull the lever to gamble for rewards)
- Added the Super Egg Vending Machine, unlocked at Prestige 5. This replaces the old Queen’s quest.
- Eggs now come with random lives between 10-15, or, rarely, 30!
- Day/night transitions are now animated rather than instant
- Added animated announcement ring effects for major and minor events
- Player-to-player Trade now re-parses items (fixes item-display/trade issues)
- Reworked RNGesus into “RNGesus’ Gambit”: +4/8/12/16% Luck (boosts rare drops from Uberdrops, Bosses, Apocalyptic drops & Riftwalker), but you lose 3x Beacons or 3x lives on death unless your lives are saved.
- Arctic Assault now triggers on Shift + Right-click
- And more!

That’s it! Thanks for sticking with us as we build towards this game’s future :)
